Following the Pulwama bomb blast which killed 44 CRPF soldiers of India, India struck Balakot, the biggest terror camp of Jaish-e-Mohammad which was situated in Pakistan. Many camps were blasted by the Indian Air force killing almost all the terrorists who were residing in the camp.

Pakistan highly opposed this attack. The Pakistan fighter jets tried to violate Indian air space in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch and Nowshera sectors. But they were pushed back by the Indian Air Force successfully. Since there are chances for Pakistan to retaliate the air strike, “high alerts” were set up in five important Indian cities for nearly 72 hours which is considered to be a crucial period. High security was set up in these places.

IAF Conducts Air attack on Balakot terror camp

The Indian Air Force conducted an air strike on the biggest terror camp of Pakistan based Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) in Balakot in the wee hours on Tuesday. Briefing the media in New Delhi, Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale said, credible information was received that JeM was attempting other suicide terror attacks in the country and terrorists were being trained for that purpose.

It became inevitable to carry out a pre-emptive strike. He asserted that in this non-military pre-emptive action, a very large number of JeM terrorists, trainers and senior commanders were eliminated. The airstrike was conducted in a thick forest area to avoid civilian casualties. Pakistan has taken no concrete action to dismantle the infrastructure of terrorism on its soil.  India expects Pakistan to dismantle all terror camps, including those of JeM.
