Chris Gayle Scores 300 Sixes

The Jamaican cricketer, Chris Gayle scored his 300th six in the IPL T20 match history on Saturday.

He has reached a massive achievement of 302 sixes in the IPL matches. He was a player from the Kings Eleven. In the scheduled match of KXIP against the Mumbai Indians, Chris Gayle scored his 302nd six.

When the 200 sixes is not yet reached by any players so far, this is one of the greatest milestone of Gayle. He has scored these out of his 114 innings in total in 2019.

AB de Villiers who comes next in place have scored 192 sixes in the IPL so far.

Brunei Offers Strict Punishments for Gay Sex

Brunei, a small south-east Asian island near Indonesia and Malaysia, has announced very strict laws to be implemented by the beginning of next month for various offences including gay sex.

The small Islamic island consisting of only 450,000 people have offered to condemn gay sex and adultery by stoning the person found guilty to death. This new penal code was to be implemented from the 3rd of April.

The Sultan of Brunei, Hassanal Bolkiah, announced this chnage in the laws of the island. Many other strict laws including amputation for theft were announced by the prime minister.

However, Human Rights associations were against the strict penal laws established by the government in the island.

Airaa Movie Review

Lady Superstar Nayanthara’s film Airaa hitted the screen on Thursday. The movie has received very good reviews so far.

The movie is of a horror genre and Nayanthara has taken a double role of Yamuna and Bhavani. The trailer has recieved more than million views after its release.

The movie director said that the plot will be a totally new experience for the viewers. The plot says about a vlogger who was haunted by a doppleganger.

Nayanthara has already starred horror movies like Maaya and Dora. So this movie has raised the expectations of the viewers generally.

Facebook launches tools for India ahead of general elections

Facebook has launched a set of tools specifically for Indian users, with the aim of boosting engagement with voters ahead of the elections.

  • Facebook has announced a new video feature called ‘Candidate Connect’ which will let people see 20-second videos from candidates in their constituencies. The content of the videos is based off questions that arose from consumer research, according to the Economic times.
  • The second feature is a ‘Share You Voted’ tool, which will help people find polling station information and allow people to celebrate making their voice heard.

The step come as Facebook has committed to making sure that fake news doesn’t impact the elections in India, by coming down on political advertising and removing bad actors and fake accounts.

Venezuela Faces Blackouts

Venezuela faces the fourth major blackout on Wednesday which literally stopped the function of the whole country. This is already the fourth massive blackout within three weeks.

Nearly 12 states out of 23 was completely darkened because of the blackout. The cities were completely dumbstruck. Industries, schools and other institutions faced major difficulty.

The blackout on Monday forced the government to close the schools and business leaving the biggest airport of the country in the darkness. Whereas on Wednesday’s blackout, 91% of the internet service was cut off crippling the city.

Though many reasons were given for the blackout by the government, people are still grumbling about the beginning of a crisis in the country.

“Young Scientist Programme”-Online Registration

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has launched a special programme for School Children called “Young Scientist Programme” “YUva VIgyani KAryakram” (युिवका) from this year.

The Program is primarily aimed at imparting basic knowledge on Space Technology, Space Science and Space Applications to the younger ones with their interest in the emerging areas of Space activities.

Eligiblity criteria :

The residential training programme will be of around two weeks duration during summer holidays and it is proposed to select 3 students each from each State/ Union Territory to participate in this programme covering state, CBSE, and ICSE syllabus. Those who have just finished 9th standard (in the academic year 2018-19) and waiting to join 10th standard (or those who have started 10th Std just now) will be eligible for the programme.

Super Kings Beats the Capitals

In the IPL T20 conducted between Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals, CSK registered their second victory on Tuesday.

Delhi Capitals began with batting. Shikar Dhawan scored the highest of 51 runs for 47 balls. The team scored a total of 147 runs losing 6 wickets by the end of 20 overs.

CSK, however got a good partnership of Watson, Dhoni and Raina. The team scored 150 runs out of 4 wickets by the end of 19. 4 overs.

Thus CSK won the trophee of the day registering its second victory.

Nayanthara condemns Radha Ravi

Actor Nayanthara on Monday released a statement registering her “condemnation and protest against the derogatory speeches made by Mr. Radha Ravi against women and children in general and me in specific”.

In a strongly worded statement, she demanded that the South Indian Artistes’ Association, also known as the Nadigar Sangam, set up an Internal Complaints Committee as per the Supreme Court guidelines and carry out an internal inquiry on the incident.

She also thanked Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam president M.K. Stalin for taking action against Radha Ravi — the party had suspended him for his comments on Monday.

She was responding to comments made by the actor at the trailer launch of her film Kolaiyudhir Kaalam on Saturday.

She said that an actor of Radha Ravi’s “seniority and considerable work experience” should have “led the younger generation by example”.“Instead, he has chosen to take up the role of a misogynist ‘role model’,” she said.

Nayanthara also added  When actors like Mr. Radha Ravi fall out of business and become irrelevant, they tend to rely on cheap popularity tactics in order to grab some limelight.
