The co-founder of Microsoft, Bill Gates, leaves the board room after forty- four years.

Bill Gates, one of the richest men of the world founded Microsoft and introduced it to the world on March 13, 1976. Exactly after taking the company to a successful position and being the member of board for about forty-four years, Bill Gates announced his decision of backing away from the board of directors on March 13, 2020. He informed this with a short messasge on his LinkedIn account.
He also announced his departure from the board of Berkshire Hathaway, the conglomerate led by his friend Warren Buffett. He has announced that he was about to concentrate on philanthropic activities and is gonna work on increasing global health, development, education and in tackling climatic changes.
It is to be noted that he is contributing much in the epic battle against the pandemic COVID-19. As Microsoft has increased triple fold under its new CEO, Sathya Nadella, the absence of Gates in the board room will be much noticeable.
