Black Day- Pulwama Attack

India remembers the day dedicated for love as the Black Day, in honour of the great martyr souls of Indian Army who were killed in the Pulwama attack.

As the world celebrates the Valentines Day, showering love on their beloved ones, the people of India pay homage to the 44 CRPF martyrs who were killed in a terrorist attack in Pulwama.

On 14th February 2019, a convoy of vehicles carrying a paramilitary troop in the Srinagar-Jammu higway was exploded by a suicide bomber belonging to the Pakistan based terror group, Jaish-e-Mohammad. The attack took around 3pm near Pulwama when a SUV carrying nearly 80 kilo of explosives banged into the convoy vehicle.Neary 44 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were killed in the attack and few others were injured.

India remembers the first anniversary of these brave souls who laid their life for country’s sake. Political leaders and others paid homage to the martyrs of the country. Netizens expressed their regret and respect on the attack putting forth their voice on the attack.

World Radio Day

The World Radio Day is celebrated annually on February 13th.

This day was celebrated to remember the antique technique of information sharing that has not altered its existence even after a century. Though radio is years old, it still remains intact being the source of sharing news and information to many community of people.

The World Radio Day was initiated by UNESCO. It was decided at the 36th session of UNESCO’s General Conference to proclaim February 13 as the day for radio.

The theme for the World Radio Day 2020 is ‘Radio and Diversity.’ This theme brings the focus on plurilingualism, as radio remains an important media to preserve linguistic tolerence.

The All India Radio (AIR) News broadcasts in about 92 languages and dialects in 607 bulletins.

World Cancer Day

World Cancer Day is remembered every year on the 4th of February to stop the preventable deaths caused by cancet among the people without awareness.

The World Cancer Day is organized by Union for International Cancer Control (UICC). This day was launched to create a mass awareness on the preventable cancer diseases.

People lack awareness that they tend to treat cancer as an incurable disease. However, many cancer can be treated and prevented at the early stages. Many rally was conducted on this day to reduce the cancer risk factors.

The theme for the World Cancer Day 2020 is I Am and I Will. “This World Cancer Day, we recognise that our commitment to act will lead to powerful progress in reducing global impact of cancer.”

World Wetland Day

World Wetland Day is celebrated anually on the 2nd of February.

This day is inaugrated to create an awareness on protecting the wet marshlands of the world. A small group of environmentalists came with an idea and signed an international contract with Ramsar Convention in Iran.

The day is being celebrated since 1997 and now it has become a global convention to protect the wetlands for humanity.

“Wetlands and Biodiversity” is the theme for international Wetland Day for the year 2020. Wetland biodiversity with its 6% area on earth explains its importance for protecting it.

Martyr’s Day 2020

India is celebrating the great martyrs on Januray 30, who gave their life for the freedom struggle, in accordance to the death anniversary of the Father of the Nation.

Mahatma Gandhi who taught non violence to the world, was killed on this evening of Januray 30, 1948 by Nathuram Godse. This day is remembered by Indians as Martyr’s day in honour of Gandhi’s contribution to the Independence of India.

India also remembers another Marty’s day on March 23, to honour the Indian martyrs Bhagat Singh, Shivaram Rajguru and Sukhdev Thapar who were killed on the same day. Few minutes of silence is offered in honour of the martyrd souls.

National Girl Child Day 2020

The National Girl Child Day is celebrated in India on 24th of January annually. .

National Girl Child Day is initiated to spread an awareness among people on protecting and supporting girl children. It also speaks of providing equal oppurtunities for the girl children while maintaining gender equality in the society.

This day was first initiated by the Ministry of Women and Child Development in 2008. The main aim for designing a day especially for the girls is to bring to the light the inequalities and the violence faced by girls. This day is celebrated to promote health, protection and education for girl children.

Many awareness programmes will be conducted around the counrty to promote gender equality in the society with regard to National Girl Child Day. Netizens has also trended the hashtag on the national girl child day 2020.

123rd Birth Anniversary of Subash Chandra Bose

The 123rd birth anniversary of the freedom fighter Subash Chandra Bose is celebrated today with people paying tribute to him around India.

Subash Chandra Bose is one of the greatest freedom fighter of India. He was that one activist who gathered the power of youth establishing the Indian National Army (IAA), to wage an active war against the British rule.

Bose took the opposite doctrine of Gandhi to fight against the British. He has his own idea and strategy in achieving his goal to a certain level. However, he is declared to be dead in an air crash in 1945, though concrete evidence is not to be found.

The nation celebrated his birthday by remembering his best deeds for the country. President delivered a tweet stating that he was one of our most beloved national heroes and an icon of India’s freedom struggle. PM Modi also tweeted two tweets paying tribute to the leader stating that he played a very important role in the freedom struggle.

Reliance Hits ₹10 Lakh Crore m-cap

Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) owned by Mukesh Ambani has reached a new milestone on Thursday by touching a ₹10 Lakh crore market capitalization.

The shares of RIL has rocketed upto 0.75% reaching ₹1,581 per piece. RIL comparably showed a great growth even from the beginning of this year. As the m-cap stood lingering near the ₹10 Lakh crore milestone, it hitted the mark on Thursday morning.

With this increase in share, Ambani’s net worth has increased to $60.5 billion. Forbes stated that with an increase in the net worth, Ambani has topped the Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin. He is now in the 9th spot on the list of the richest people.
