Budget 2019: Smart Politics

The interim budget of the year 2019-20 had been delivered by the interim Finance Minister Piyush Goyal.

It was delivered that the budget was more ‘middle-class friendly’ apart from being rural friendly. The budget has given a lot of allowances and changes in the tax payments.

Full income tax rebate was announced for people with income upto 5 lakhs. This rebate will be useful to 40% of the people.

Business people who has factored a smart investment earning upto ₹7.5 lakhs per annum are now exempted from paying taxes.

Also income tax exemption to the bank deposits interest has been raised from ₹10,000 to ₹40,000.

This budget gave much importance to reducing the tax burden on the middle-class families. Also few announcements were made on the scheduled caste people who are involved in animal husbandry and fishing.

Pravasi Bharathiya Divas to begin Tomorrow in Varanasi

The stage is all set for the beginning of 15th edition of Pravasi Bhartiya Divas at Varanasi tomorrow , 21st January 2019. For the first time in the history of Pravasi Bhartiya Diwas, the event is being held in Varanasi, the cultural and spiritual capital of India. Over the next three days from 21st to 23rd January , the city will be a witness to scores of sessions, seminal talks by experts and luminaries in their fields, cultural programmes and visit of the NRIs to renowned places of Kashi, Sarnath and Ganga Ghats among others.

The theme for PBD 2019 is “Role of Indian Diaspora in building New India”.

The opening day on 21st January will mark the Youth PBD with the focus on the generation next especially from Uttar Pradesh. Prime Minister Narendra Modi  will inaugurate the PBD on 22nd January with  the Prime Minister of Mauritius, Pravind Jugnath as the Chief Guest.

The valedictory address and Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Awards will be conferred by the President Ram Nath Kovind on the 23rd Januray 2019.

PM Modi’s 3 day visit to Gujarat

On very first day PM Modi inaugurated Vibrant Gujarat Global Trade show at Gandhi nagar and the Ahamedabad shopping Festival .

On January 18th, India has signed a long-term contract with Uzbekistan for supply of uranium ore concentrates to widen its source base for the nuclear fuel. The contract was signed in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who is attending the Vibrant Gujarat summit in Gandhinagar.

The agreement was exchanged the contract between the Department of Atomic Energy (DEA) and Novoi Minerals & Metallurgical Company of Uzbekistan Uzbekistan is the seventh largest exporter of uranium in the world.

The Exim Bank signed an agreement with Uzbekistan to extend a 200-million US dollar line of credit for financing housing and social infrastructure projects. The credit line was announced by Mr Modi during the official visit of Mirziyoyev last October to New Delhi.

On January 19th, He inaugurated the National Museum of Indian Cinema in south Mumbai. The development of the Museum was guided by the Museum Advisory Committee headed by Shyam Benegal.It is spread over two buildings, in the historic Gulshan Mahal and New Museum Building.

The New Museum Building consists of four levels: Level 1 – Gandhi & Cinema, Level 2 – Children’s Film Studio,    Level 3 – Technology, Creativity and Indian Cinema and Level 4 – Cinema across India. The New Museum Building will also have two Auditoriums, equipped with State-of-the-Art Digital Cinema Projectors and 7.1 surround sound system
